The most popular mineral water, only available in sparkling, and has its source in the springs near Karlovy Vary.
Why the Italian name? Because the source was discovered by an Italian explorer, of course.
In restaurants, when you want fizzy water you can ask for "Mattonku" (meaning 'little Mattoni') and even if they don't carry Mattoni specifically you will get fizzy mineral water. The brand name is so strong that it serves as a substitute, like Kleenex or Band-Aid.
High mineral content and tickly bubbles make it a Czech favorite; this is why it is always carried in the finer restaurants and cafes.

PS - Also available in flavors such as grapefruit and orange in the supermarkets.
