I now have a new Nokia "smartphone", and recently came across "Metro" -

Free software with maps of every underground/subway/metro system, including the systems in Prague, Plzen, Liberec, Bygoszcz, Poznan, Copenhagen, Plzen, New York, Chicago, Manchester, Newcastle, in fact over 300 metro's / underground's in total.

The software works on Palm, Smartphone, etc....

For those without Palms or Smartphones, "MetrO" is also available via WAP or iMode, and even online online via webpage search of your travel requirements.

Its quite an easy system to operate, you choose your start and destination, and the software tells you how you get there - tram / metro direction of travel, line number, number of stops you have to travel, and estimated journey time.
